A Major Experience with a Minor League Team

Pretty, Pretty

The sign above the window read "will call." I nervously stumbled to front and gave my name. Handed to me was freshly laminated press pass, and I proceeded to make my way across the ballpark and through a sea of Jumbo Shrimp fans to the press box. Though I am no stranger to attending minor league baseball games, I had never seen one from this perspective and was in awe of getting the behind the scenes look.

During my first few months in Jacksonville, I had the privilege of not only shadowing Jumbo Shrimp games in the press box, but learning even more skills outside of the ballpark. In the last few weeks of the season, I was given the opportunity to learn how to produce live radio broadcasts for ESPN 690 JAX. I produced three shows by myself and was excited to add a new skill to my resume!
